She had to stand on her tip toes and back up to see all of how she looked, but she was smiling broadly, showing off the extra set of sharp canines her mouth held compared to others.
"It's a very bad sign when a pretty girl gets even prettier to go and see a boy she favors," her Mentor said teasing her while she slipped on h

There was nothing graceful about a toddler passed out on a shoulder and chewing on the edge of your hair, but somehow it worked in a very nice way for Jude. Which was a train of thought that pulled Alderic right out of his reading, Still now the kid was sleeping in the room he shared with her, and Jude was sitting on the couch again, something in his hands...
"Are you sewing?" Alderic asked one of his ears flicking upwards. He was pretty sure that was an article of Jude's own clothing across his lap, and that he was repairing it himself.
It was amazing how quiet it got when neither of the girls were present, or awake... Moxie was

It was distracting enough that it was hard to study the recently copied scrolls from some of the other colony's doctors, and instead she simply worked on copying over the text, even if the words weren't registering at least she would have them for later. With everyone on edge, every time the door opened the person in it scanning the room like they were expecting an attack that moment... everything just felt tense and wrong, in a way she couldn't quite explain. Finally finished with copying over the scroll to her rudimentary parchments she out both carefully in her bag. It was at least far enough away from the curfew to go and return the s
