BUT ...
For me that is just the "old school" way of doing things xD
Iv been there ... for many years ...
And actually

wELL ... i have actually 20 years of 3d Art ...
Been trying everything there is in 3D ...
And i'm searching for something more evolved else xD
Right now i think we need things more on the "Pixar" philosophy that :
- Phisical Materials Defenitions they should be individually hard handcoded ...
- - So that They look good no matter what lightning conditions or even cameras setups they are under ...
That happens with "Arnold render, vray, maxwell, renderman ... " Materials ...
And Doesnt happen That much so far with IRAY Common materials setups
That because no one have been having the courage or knoledge to Hardcode or at least try to emulate proper no Enviroment dependable Defenitions in a More Artistic but also realistic photo based referenced way ...

So no matter what Shaders Settings or Defenitions Packages are out there in the market "right now"
All them are highly dependable on Enviroments setups, lights hdris ... Whatever ...
And that is Just because THE Available MDL SHADERS Can be As COmplex As UBBER and try to be universal
But Are Actually not Properly done inside the Shader in a Way to Achieve artistic realism
independable of Enviroment conditions
AND YEAH ! TONEMAPPING Is quite a greath thing ...
BUT tonemapping just FLATENS results ...
There is a lot more needed INSIDE a Shader ...
With its Shader Language Defenitions
To better And properly React to the Surounding light .
And that is only possible with Coded Custom Builded Shaders ...
Wich is something that NO ONE is doing ...
...
All everyone even hot merchants ...
Are just taking it the EASY way ...
...
Just Tweeking IRAy UBER Shader parameters ...
And calling that "new Shaders"
..
That just End up "Too hard" for users to Emulate their results ...
Without proper Advanced Setups ...
That Require much time and knoledge from the end users ...

But no One Actually having the Hardwork and knoledge to actually DO new Hand coded Shaders
( WELL NO ONE Less MEC4D And me i think ... ) ... but again we Both have 20 years of this ...

And for the lack of all that ( In a better Product ) i am Developing a DazStudio Custom MDL shader
THAT DOES NOT NEED HDRI OR LIGHTNING At All ! to look good ...

Kind of Tricks ...
Even the Default camera Lamp is turned off
And SO ABOVE is DazStudio IRAY UBBER base as it comes from Default No irray Ubber Settings Tweaked ...
And ...
Going into more Advanced setups ..
LETS GET SOME ADVANCED UBBER SKIN SETTINGS !
And Putted them Down on a Genesis 3 Male / Default Genesis essencials free Character that comes with dazStudio ...

AND - With all iray Ubber parameters
WITH YOUR UBBER SHADER SETTING Above WE Got This Result ...
Quite a Bit Better ... BUT ...
As you can see comparing to some ARTIST image ...
WitH Exact Same Shader settings
Yup this is the same Shader Settings as Above
It Doesnt compare ...
At all ..

AND WHY ?
Well ...
The Trick ABove is all on the Enviroment HDRI
And on the Colored Geometry Emission
As it is the Suround "bouncing" Colored lightning
And the Very good Texture map that Does that Skin "Wow" Aspect
...
And in this case ( without the full scene setup )
... a newbie user that doesnt know or have all that Lights and enviroment setup ...
It just CANT achieve the Same degree of quality ...
